I was shocked and saddened to hear of Phil's passing. I met Phil when I joined TD about 8 years ago and as others stated, I wanted to learn as much as I could from him. He was extremely generous with his time, taking me on meetings, introducing me to his large network so that I could be successful. He was always willing to help and guide you through the process. My condolences to the Ammirato family. Phil will deeply missed. - Dave Barry

I met Phil when I was hired at my first and only bank- Commerce Bank, back in 2005. We hit it off having the John Glenn v. Babylon old rivalry thing going and he was truly amazing to me and my family, showing me the ropes, helping me find new business, and brining me on calls- I was trying to absorb as much as possible, but he went fast!! On the golf course too, "Tom, grab three clubs and meet me around the right side of the green to finish up". I am glad I got the experience The Master's with him and young Phil many years ago. Thank you for everything Phil, you were brilliant, driven and innovative and I was proud to know you and call you my friend. -Tom Kain

I met Phil in 1985 when I joined The Bank of New York. We worked in the Valley Stream office and he offered a kind welcome to me as a newcomer. We worked together on and off for the next 30 or so years. I still have a golf club he gave me years ago which helped my game. He was always trying to make things better. Such a loss.
