Thanks to Melanie, your fierce battles with cancer honored at our 4/16 campus blood drive. Over 200 people signed up to donate; 196 pints collected. In your name, with each pint potentially saving three lives, 586 lives positively impact, possibly saved, in your name. God bless you and your inspiring journey. Kate Valerio, SBU "Soldier, rest! thy warfare o'er, Sleep the sleep that knows not breaking: Dream of battled fields no more," Sir Walter Scott

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Aidan Dominick Fischer, who departed this life on April 18, 2025, at the age of 23. He is deeply loved and will be forever remembered by his loving parents Jenine Saccente and Christopher Fischer; his beloved brother Donovan; his devoted fiancé Bailee Cody; his godfather Frank Funaro; grandparents Mary and John Fischer; aunts and uncles Loretta and Freddie Hamann, Heather Ciccone and Nikki and Brian Dowd; the Ciccone and Dowd cousins; his chosen big sister Gabi Farrell-Aureliano and family; and his best friends Tyler Dunat, Ray Stevens, Nick Anderson, and Melanie Formosa, along with many other cherished friends and family. Aidan had an extraordinary love for animals, especially his beloved dogs Mama and Bandit, his cats Stitch and Percy, and his snake Jackson. Aidan was known for his bright spirit, resilience, unwavering kindness, and his sharp and witty sense of humor. He faced his third battle with leukemia with immense courage and grace and passed away surrounded by love and the deep care of those who cherished him. Aidan's interests were as wide as they were deep. He had a lifelong passion for flying, a love of music that led him to play drums in the local rock band, Razer's Edge, and a competitive spirit that showed in his love of golf and soccer. Most recently, he was proudly awarded a black belt in Jiu Jitsu after years of dedication - a true testament to his perseverance and fighting spirit. He was the epitome of empathy and compassion, and his legacy will live on forever in our hearts. Visitation will be held at Brueggemann Funeral Home, 522 Larkfield Road, East Northport, NY, on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26, from 2–4 PM and 6–8 PM each day. Words of Remembrance will be held at Brueggemann on Sunday, April 27 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities NY Metro in gratitude for the support they provided to Aidan and his family. www.rmhcnym.org

I only knew Aidan through his brother, Donovan, and his lovely parents when I had the honor of teaching for them at Love of Learning, but he was such a bright light and kind soul. He brought joy with him wherever he went, much like every Fischer I have had the pleasure to know. with love and condolences, Arli ("Miss A")
