NELSON - Audrey B. of East Northport on August 20, 2024, at 92 years of age. Audrey grew up in West Hempstead, and summered in the family bungalow at Lake Ronkonkoma with her cousin Janet. A 1949 graduate of Hempstead HS, she went on to work at Republic Aviation. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, embroidering, knitting and was an avid collector of all things Victorian. She volunteered as a Girl Scouts leader for many years. Later in life she worked for Visiting Nurse Service in Huntington where she is remembered for running a tight ship with a gentle hand. Devoted wife of 70 years to Robert Nelson. Loving mother of Nancy (Jef), Laurie (Jeff), and Melissa (Bill). Treasured Grammy of Ben, Bobby, Abby, Kate, Andy, Zach; and great grandmother to nine. She will be fondly remembered as the multifaceted woman she was. Visitation Tuesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm at Brueggemann Funeral Home - 522 Larkfield Road, East Northport.
