ACEVEDO - Divina of Greenlawn on May 12, 2022 at 99 years of age. Born in Puerto Rico, she spent her early years in Ponce. The devoted wife of the late Raymond Acevedo. The two moved to New York in 1947. Divina worked as a seamstress and was an active member of the United Garment Workers Union and belonged to many community organizations including the Veterans Woman’s Auxiliary. An involved member of her parish, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ozone Park. She had a penchant for theater and film and enjoyed Broadway matinees and going to the movies. Beloved mother of Vilma (the late Robert), Iraina (James). Treasured grandmother of Robert, Brian, Matthew, Heather, Iraina-Rose. Loving great grandmother of four and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Jose, and sisters Elsa and Olga. Visitation Monday from 4-8 PM at Brueggemann Funeral Home - 522 Larkfield Road, East Northport.
