Always enjoyed working with Frank at the American Legion. Plenty of race days, park events etc. Can't ever remember a time when Frank's face was without his great big smile. Such a happy guy and a great role model for the members of the Sons of the American Legion. Rest In Peace Frank. - John McKenna, Past Commander - Sons of the American Legion Squad 694

Dear, dear Frankie Bell......my friend Fred Altano introduced me to Frank in the 1980s. Fred and a bunch of guys, many of whom were NYC firefighters, would gather at Sunken Meadow Park to jog, have coffee and discuss life. They were grand times. Frank was always there with a broad smile and hearty laugh. Talking to him would chase your troubles away. He was the social director of our group. Daily coffee, occasional barbecues and at times, a little libation. Fred, Charlie, Artie, Jack Hack, Frank Mascarella, Don Mallen, Vinny Clark and others, whose names I can't remember, were some of the regular participants The common bond was love and friendship with Frankie at the center. Though he wasn't built physically like your typical runner, he pushed himself to the limit always and never quit. He ran numerous half marathons, 10 and 5ks and of course the NY Park Summer Series. He always made sure there was ample food and a full cooler for the fellowship we enjoyed after the race. Frankie, you enriched my life and the lives of all who had the pleasure to call you friend. You finsihed the big race in grand fashion. Rest in peace my brother. I'll see you on the other side.

Dad, going to miss watching and talking sports with you of our favorite teams. Thank you for all your wisdom and showing us to work hard and take every test that came out. How to do any type of work around the house or cars. I wish we had more time. Love that you were always smiling and loved to travel. Well you are now with all your friends, family, and your dog Biscuit! This is not goodbye but until we meet again and talk sports and your travels.
