Doht, Inge, M. - Born October 15, 1927, the daughter of Otto and Gretchen Mieth, passed away on June 7, 2021

Inge is survived by her beloved husband John, their three sons and spouses, John (Elise), Richard (Mary), and Robert (Patricia), seven wonderful grandchildren, Kirsten (Kevin) Birnstill, John, Richard, Caitlin, Ashley, Michael and Alexa, and two great grandchildren, Emily and Ryan. Inge’s devoted daughter Carolyn had passed away in 1976 after a courageous battle with Leukemia, at the tender age of 18.

Inge grew up in the town of Hicksville, and graduated Hicksville High School in 1945. She married John (the love of her life) on June 12, 1949. Throughout her life, Inge held varied positions in legal, publishing and retail fields. Her true passion and most rewarding role however, was that of motherhood.

Inge was a constant presence throughout her children’s formative years, becoming active in the local PTA, scouting functions, and fund-raising activities. She loved to sing and knew the lyrics to a seemingly endless repertoire of songs. Inge was extraordinarily creative, sewing her own formal wear, stitching the best Halloween and school play costumes, and instilling in the young minds of her children, the importance small details play in an overall presentation.
