My nephew Jason was such a kind and caring soul. He passed no judgement and forgave freely. In a room, he would always seek out the person who he thought may be misunderstood, or struggling the most to fit in, and try to connect. I've witnessed this so many times at our family gatherings. Jason knew that every single person here on earth was valued in Gods eyes. He wanted to make sure they felt loved, valued, and that they mattered. If we take away anything from Jason's life, let it be that. Please, as you go through your daily life, if you come across someone who looks, acts, dresses, or just exists in a way you can't understand, let your first action be to pause and think about what may be going on for them. Their life may be very different from yours, or they may look neurotypical but really be struggling to fit in. Show them compassion, give them a smile. Pass on Gods love. That's what Jason would do. And if everyone would follow Jay's lead, think how much better this world could be.

Jason, you and Jeff were already a part of the family before Uncle Owen brought me to NY to meet everyone. My first glimpse at the both of you were of you sleeping peacefully in your cribs. That next morning, I got my first taste of toddler energy as you and Jeff played with each other and with everyone around the breakfast table that morning. It struck me this week how hard you and Jeff had to fight to survive at the beginning of your lives, and how hard you have been fighting for the last several years. Glory to God, you no longer have to fight. While we are so very sad that you have left this life, we cling to the promise that this separation is temporary. We cling to the assurance that you are whole and healthy and at peace. Psalms 119 is too long to quote here, but in reading it, I see such a mirror of your journey of faith. God Bless You, Jason. We will miss you until we are reunited on the other side of the veil. Love always, Aunt Christi
