Condolences

I've been unable to find the words to express my sorrow at the death of my dear friend, Joanne. I've decided there are no words. I will be forever grateful for her being there through the illness and death of my grandson. I still cant find the words. My heart goes out to Ali. Every time she spoke if him her eyes lit up and her voice softened. Her love for her daughter and son in law could not be measured and her granddaughter, oh, her granddaughter. She was the apple of her eye. I'll miss you, dear friend. You will forever live in my heart.

My cousin Joanne was always remarkable. From my earliest memories of her we would share holidays and family gatherings though we grew up in different states. Throughout our young childhood, her mom, my Aunt Anne would bring Jo and her little brother Jim to our South Jersey town of Richland where I lived with my parents, my uncle Charlie and our grandmom. They would come to escape the heat of the city and spend three glorious weeks with us where there would be beach days, lightning bugs, and giggles into the night in the little attic room we shared. A long weekend her Dad, my Uncle Jim would come too. I have always called her my summer sister because when she visited,I was no longer an only child. Every Christmas her family would come to visit us and Aunt Anne and Uncle Jim would bring pounds of miniature NY Italian pastries that were greatly anticipated. We shared lots of history and love of family and sadly in our adult years only rarely got a chance to see each other. I will mourn her and miss her and hold her dearly in my heart. I know the hole this will leave in the lives of those who love her and my deepest sympathy and condolences to her beloved Ali, her daughter Sureya, her granddaughter Selene, her brother Jim and her family and extended far-flung family. May your loved ones. know of no more sorrow.

Joanne was one of the most intelligent and charismatic women I've ever know. She had a questioning and probing mind and was always happy to share! I loved our breakfasts and lunches. I will miss her so much.

I will miss my dear friend Joanne. My friend since early seventies and my daughter's Godmother. Although we lived on separate islands, Long Island and Staten Island, we always kept in touch. Our daughters are all grown now. Sureya your mom loved you and was so proud of you. Ali, with you by her side all these years, it meant the world to her. Can't forget her lovely granddaughter that was the apple of her eye. May God continue to bless you all. Love, Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Joe.

Joanne was a beautiful person inside and out. She was so close with her family and so loved them. I know she will be missed by all but now she is embraced in God's loving arms. Joanne,we will surely miss you. Love, Cheryl
