James was a kind man with a great sense of humor. We shared an office for years. I recall his many conversations about family. His love and caring was obvious. He will be missed.

Dear Leela Aunty , I'm so incredibly sorry to hear about James uncle. I've just heard. May uncle rest in peace and may you find courage to move on. With much love and god bless. Sangeeta Kuriakos ( Saro's daughter )

Dear family of Kurian James, Leela and from Denise Caracappa, your next door neighbor on Mander Lane. We all here next door, my family, mom, dad and brother--they all had such kind words of you James, as we called him. My mom told me if any problems, to call James next door, as I knew he would be on lookout for my elderly mom and disabled brother. Also, he shared love of plants and flowers and I have fond memories of how he enjoyed making his home beautiful and loved talking to my dad who was an expert gardener. I look at the beautiful garden next door, all kept so well, and I think of James and my dad too. In addition, please forgive I did not come to your memorial service as due to Covid, not think good idea. Leela, we stay in touch and let me know if I can help in any small way. Also, I was very touched that James, with Leela, came to my brother's funeral back in 2014 and offered support. We need more kind and gentle people like James in this world, From Denise Caracappa 15 Mander Lane,

James Appachen, we miss you so much. And it hurts to know we won't be able to see you or hear your voice again. You have impacted all of our lives and are the only person I know who never had any negative thoughts about anyone. You were always supportive of us and you were always a father figure to my mom. Growing up, I've always looked up to you and always took your wise words to heart. I really wish Paul had a chance to meet you because he truly missed out on what an amazing person you were! We love you and we take comfort believing you're looking down at us with your sweet smile! Love, Alina & Paul from Houston, TX

My heart goes out to all of Kurian's family. May his memory live long in the hearts and minds of all he touched. Although I've never met him I recognize that contagious smile in Seril. Let his memories give reason to share that smile and kept the spirit and love alive. I hope this holiday you can reach out to one another (in whatever form that may be) and share memories, tears, laughs, (maybe some wine?), but most importantly love. All the best, Heidi Sending my love too💕

Our dearest Kunjappappan. Our most youngest uncle . He was a tall stature in all aspects. Calm, patience , generous and lot to describe . He studied in Trivandrum University college and lot of friends circle there even now . Later he moved to New York but still have hood connections with them and I am one of a beneficiary of that good connections of people in power . I remember while practicing as lawyer in Pathanamthitta We had a client who belongs to Sabarimala Vavar family and there was a dispute within the family regarding the control of the mosque . It's very hard to get a court order instantly . At that Kunjappappans friend was the Highest police official and he knew me and I sought his help the eject the opponent of my client from the mosque . All his visit to India during our childhood days was a festive season for us . He brings lot of stuffs which were not available at that time . After I came here in 2010 it was he who took me almost every places in New England , NYC, Long Island , NJ, PA etc and I was watching the roads and because of that reason I dont even need GPS for covering these areas . He brought me a car which I am still using and It saved me from lot of accidents and Police interference . He was a versatile personality having knowledge about almost all thinks and I used to take his advise for almost everything . Not only but all our cousins . He helped every body who comes to New York by taking them to all places of attraction . We lost a hope for ever and ever and our damage is irreparable

Still remember the days we used to get together to experience foods of different countries when the children were little. The children used to play together while adults enjoyed the conversations. You were so heartbroken when you lost your niece Helena. We are so sorry to lose you so early. Our prayers are with you and your family Leelamma, Abe n Cyril. Our heartfelt condolences to you all🙏
