I met Leona at the Centerport Beach House when I was the hostess there and we became dear friends. I enjoyed the stories of her childhood growing up in California. I can still remember how she liked to dunk her tea bag 25 times to enhance the flavor. Leona truly had a love for life. May her memory bring her family and friends peace.

Leona and I met through our Red Hat group - The High Tide Hatters over 20 yrs. ago. We shared many experiences and meals over those years. I enjoyed her company and was in awe of her energy , spirit, and kindness. I will miss her terribly but she will always be in my heart.

There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains. My dear Aunt Lee, your light will always shine bright within my heart forever. Love, Catherine (Gordnick) Johnson

I am so very sorry for the loss of your mom, grandma. I wanted to see her when I was up in NY recently but she was ill and in the hospital. Your Mom was such a special lady! Her love of life was apparent in her beautiful smile, her wonderful sense of humor and her love for her family. She always made me feel like family. I am so glad that I was able to get to know her after she married ED and share many laughs with them , she will be missed. You are all in my thoughts, hugs to the entire family. Love, Geegee (Gordnick) McGowan
