Obituary For Lorraine June Eaton

EATON - Lorraine J., at the age of 98. A longtime resident of East Northport. Lorraine was a proud Registered Nurse for 75 years. She attended nursing school as a member of the United States Cadet Nursing Corp. during World War II. A loving wife to the late John for 66 happy years. Devoted mother of Brian (Susan), Barbara, and Susan (James). Cherished grandmother of Matthew (Michele), Patrick (Nicole), Kaitlin and Julia. Proud great grandmother of Cole, Camden, Scarlett, and Savannah. Lorraine and John shared a love of travel and adventure. The family takes great comfort knowing they are now reunited. Visitation Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Brueggemann Funeral Home - East Northport. A funeral service will be held Friday at 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Interment Saturday, 10:30 AM at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens. www.bfhli.com

I consider myself fortunate to have known Mrs Eaton and all the mothers of my friends while growing up in the 1960's in the EL's . As crazy and goofy as we were , we always treated our mothers with respect, always referring to them as "Mrs". They in turn were always happy, joyful, ready with a drink, snacks , cookies, while we were hangin out in their basements. Mrs. Eaton was the epitome of Joy, Grace , Love and might I say Tolerance. I firmly believe as we grew up we became a reflection of their values, and are in their debt . To Brian and Susan I wish you Peace. Frank Metzger
