Having only known Mrs. Knauer through brief opportunities as a kid growing up in Lindenhurst, NY...usually as the gaggle of friends I belonged to swung by Gary's home after muscle-numbing games of tackle football or street hockey...it's nonetheless very easy for me to say that she was a truly classy lady and obviously a great Mom. I remember her as an example of how good people are supposed to act for the sake of themselves and everyone around them...especially youngsters. I hope and trust that she knew the tremendously beneficial impact she had in shaping so many others beyond her own family for the good...she certainly had that impact on me.
