When we were in our early days in California Mark had an assignment in El Segundo He used to visit with us every weekend and he always loved Lisa's Italian cooking. It was so nice to have him in our lives. He always had a smile and a kind word. My first plane ride was with Mark as the pilot He took me up over Jones Beach What a thrill Although we haven't seen him for a long while he will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace Mark until we meet again Paul and Lisa McCann

Betty, Maureen, Kevin, Mary Margaret, Jeanann, Katherine and Thomas, I am so sorry for your loss. May your heart be surrounded by the comfort of beautiful memories. I often reflect on the wonderful times we all spent together during the holidays and summer. We had so much fun and many laughs. Mark was always so kind and patient with me when I would sit with him and talk his ear off. I continue to lift the family up in prayers. Love, Victoria Iannucci

I know Mark first through Boy Scouts, him with T75 and me T539. I remember how he was so respected by the boys and the other adult leaders. Then I knew him as neighbors and he would talk to me when he was on his walks and I was working in my driveway. We would talk about my cars and his battles with his lawn :). Such a kind man. May he rest in peace.

Mark hired me in 2015, he was a hard hitting, straight forward man to work for! I loved working with/for him. He was a strong leader and mentor! Loved his family and friends... I remember every late winter, early spring.. he'd sit his team down and we would all go his "pick list" to get his boat in the water for the summer. I'll miss talking to him about his list this spring.

I met Mark as a volunteer at the cradle of aviation. From the onset we were able to share memories of our aviation careers! We worked along side restoring projects for the museum! He will be missed! God called him to repair the wings of his angels! He left us here to fulfill a greater task! RIP! Jimmy Votra

I worked with Mark at the Cradle Restoration Shop. He taught me some much. There wasn't anything that Mark couldn't do.

  • 01/20/2026

Mark was one of the kindest, most genuine people you could ever meet. Although we both worked at Northrop Grumman, I first met him at Jeanann's friend's wedding. He happened to sit next to Jeanann, and from that moment on, the rest was history. Together they raised two incredible children, Katherine and Thomas. To truly love Mark was to know that he could be a bit absent-minded at times. One day while working at Grumman, Jeanann called to say that Mark had forgotten Thomas was in the car and had driven him all the way to work. When the security guard asked who he had in the back seat, Mark realized his mistake. Mark's warmth, humor, and wonderful spirit will live on forever in our hearts.

So many memories! My BFF Jeanann telling me that she met a wonderful man, Mark and she was in love! Standing up for them as a bridesmaid at their wedding, and my son Chris, Jeanann's godson, was their ring bearer. They were Aunt Jeanann and Uncle Mark to my three children and they were at every joyful event in their lives and Great Aunt and Great Uncle to my grandchildren. Watching them start their precious family, welcoming Katherine and Thomas, a blessing and joy, their world! Laughing with them when they re-told their "Mark" stories. Vacations, boat rides and just being together, near or far, has been a cherished blessing. Their love and loyalty for each other, their family, and their commitment to the community is to be admired and honored. I will miss you Mark but the memories, laughter and joy will always be in my heart. Rest in peace knowing how much you were loved. Laura

Mark had a passion for life. Enjoyed so many things had a passion for airplanes biking, camping boating, and I'm sure so many other hobbies along the way knowing Mark was a privilege we were able to share the growth of our families. He was so proud of their accomplishments. So many fond memories of Mark will be with us. All his strength will be carried on by his family. He loved them all so much. We love you, Mark our best friend. We will miss you. Greatly Pattishall , Romano and Mohr families

Mark and I used to speak together each Wednesday at the Long Island Early Fliers museum at Bayport Aerodrome. About a year ago, Mark told me he had to leave early for a dentist appointment to take care of a lose tooth. Neither of us had any idea that life was suddenly going to change. The next week he told me the dentist feared the worst. He was right. Mark was always optimistic about the treatments and each surgery as they came up. His positive outlook seemed undaunted by each of the obstacles that he faced; there were many. I told Mark recently that he was the toughest man I had ever known; a trait not obvious from such an even tempered, soft spoken gem of a man. After receiving the news, I stopped by the museum. There was a strange emptiness about the displays and artifacts that Mark had worked on with such exacting detail. It was as though they also knew that we had lost someone special. Each of the guys who Mark worked with on Wednesday mornings will miss Mark's eye for detail, dedication and gentle presence in our lives.
