I only learned of Mary's death this week with the return of a letter. Then I investigated and found her obituary. Want to let her daughter and husband know how precious she was to me and how happy I was to get to know them a little at Joe's wake. The Sisters of St. Dominic will have a special mass for sisters and associates who died at 10:45 on November 5 at 10:45 am in the motherhouse chapel. No meal is part of it but you are invited to the mass.

My dear cousin Mary. I stopped at Atria last Saturday to only learn of your passing. Pat and I are devastated. You were the closet thing to my mother, your cousin, for the last 30 years. Your kind words and phone calls will be greatly missed. I can still hear your voice on our machine " This is your cousin Mary Calandrino ....." always checking on us. Pat remembers Mass General, I remember the Babylon pool with Jonathan, you watching our for Jon in Amityville schools. To MJ and Theresa you mom was a saint. Always smiling and having a kind word. Our sincere condolences John & Pat Skjoldahl

To my Cousins, we all loved her so much and when our Mom passed away she stepped right in and filled that empty void and became our Mom for her sisters and our sake. What fun times we all had together in the early days enjoying family time, getting together taking trips and just acting crazy, she was such a gift in my life allowing us all to be ourselves long before that became a popular thing to do. I'll never forget you Aunt Mary and look forward to seeing you again. I think what I'll miss most is not getting a phone call from you on my birthday the day you chose to marry your first love Uncle Mario. You would wish me happy birthday and I would wish you happy anniversary. God speed Aunt Mary you fought the good fight and are with our Lord and Savior Jesus, enjoy those who went before you, until I see you again love always John

She was one in a million and forever in our hearts. Growing up we were an in-separatable family. The dePrima sisters are together again surely all made up dressed to the nines. I hope to always remember walking in to be greeted by her loving arms and ears always there to listen; and of course her cooking! May all who knew her be comforted by her never-ending grace. She gave and gave and gave. Never doubted her faith her heart was enormous. Lets "always remember the good" as she did every waking hour of her life. MaryJo, Peter and Theresa it will get easier she's forever with you and she loved you more that any word can express. Her legacy will live on with you, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Sienna, Maria and Thomas John. Its the end of an era but as she would say "the beat goes on". Until we sing que sera sera again my Aunty M your gone but never forgotten! Love your neice, and flower girl, Claire Mary

I worked with Mary at Massapequa General Hospital. What a kind and great lady. She sent me a card or always called me on my birthday and we would reminisce about all the fun times and happy memories working together. I was so fond of her and will miss her dearly. May she rest in peace. Jean Marie Yarema

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a wonderful addition to my family when she married my Uncle Joe. We loved taking them to visit my brother, Michael, who lived on Candlewood Lake. We will always treasure the beautiful memories we had with them. Rest In Peace Aunt Mary. Love, MaryLynn and Richie ♥️♥️♥️

M🩷M Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you . All things pass away : God never changes . Patience obtain all things , He who has God . Finds he lacks nothing. God alone suffices. Everytime we would see Mary, she always had a huge smile on her face. She always radiated with love, kindness and a dry wit that still makes me laugh. Just a wonderful person to be around, so thoughtful and kind. Rest in peace Mary and know that you are loved and will be missed by so many. Our heartfelt condolences the whole family. Love, Nick Sabia & Bill Kahn
