Val lived by the motto "that to have a friend you have to be a friend". Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you know they are there. That is why you have to cherish them and show your appreciation for them as much as you can. Remember, nothing lasts forever. Only memories remain. Forever in my heart Buddy...

Val was one-of- a-kind and an inspiration to everyone, especially those of us facing a major health issue. Through it all she stayed positive and strong, even managing to lend her strength to others. She will be sorely missed and remembered for the grace in which she lived her life.

Dear Chris and family, My heart and prayers go out to you on the loss of your beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother and friend. I feel like I knew Val through the many uplifting stories I heard about her through her Mom, Chris. She's now that shining star and angel looking out for all of you as she did here on Earth. Again, my condolences to you all. Sincerely, Cindy Mosscrop

I have met the family and I know Valerie had a awesome Mom, husband, and her 2 sons. She loved them all and they were very supportive through her battle.. I'm so proud to have met Val and she was a part of my life. I have learned from her to fight and not give up. One of the most beautiful, positive & strongest women that I have met. I told her over 1 hundred times she is an amazing person.

When I think of Valerie, a smile comes to my face. She had the best sense of humor and used it well to deal with anything and everything that crossed her path. She will continue to shine a light on all of us as her spirit is so very strong. She was my hero and all of us would do well to follow her example. Valerie showed us all to LIVE! I am forever grateful that I had Valerie as a friend and exercise buddy. My deepest condolences to her dear mother, husband and sons and all who loved her so. We will always keep Valerie in our hearts and may she rest in eternal peace.
